Manifesta continues to redefine the relationship between culture and society, using contemporary art as a catalyst for positive social change across Europe. Each edition engages deeply with its Host City or Region's social fabric – and in 2026, this dialogue will unfold across the Ruhr Area, where Manifesta 16 is currently establishing its offices in Essen.

To bring this ambitious project to life, our Marketing, Communications and Publications team and Development team are expanding. We're seeking a:

  • Manifesta 16 Ruhr Marketing and Communication Coordinator ↗
  • Manifesta 16 Ruhr Fundraiser ↗
  • Manifesta 16 Ruhr Marketing and Communication Assistant ↗

These roles will be instrumental in connecting the biennial with local, national and international audiences through innovative storytelling and community engagement.

So, are you a communications or fundraising professional based in (or willing to relocate to) the Ruhr Area? Are you passionate about engaging communities through art, architecture and culture? And excited by the prospect of shaping a big-scale European cultural event? This is your chance to be part of Manifesta's transformative mission.

Need more information? We're happy to discuss which role might suit you best – email office@manifesta.org with your questions.
