In this lecture, organised in collaboration with the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, he discusses the role of art in relation to Germany’s so-called ‘guest workers’. Their legacy and experiences continue to crucially shape German society and culture to this day.
How can art show how migrant workers live and have lived?
How do we define belonging? What memories are passed down through families?
